JD holding a newborn baby

Meet JD – Your Midwife, Educator and Supporter

My name is JD, and I’m honoured to support you through pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood. I’m a registered midwife with over 25 years of experience, most of it spent on the delivery suite, caring for women and babies during the most intense and meaningful moments of their lives.

I’m also a antenatal educator, biologist and a mother. I understand birth not only from textbooks and clinical practice, but from lived experience. I know how deeply pregnancy and birth shape a baby’s future, and how much a mother carries — physically, emotionally, and mentally — long before labour begins.

For me, birth preparation is not about promising a perfect or painless experience. It’s about preparation, education and understanding your body .Making informed decisions that protect your baby and support you as a mother. Sometimes labour is hard. Sometimes it hurts. And sometimes that effort is part of helping your baby arrive safely and strong.

I prepare women for real birth — so fear is lower, confidence is higher, and nothing feels like a shock. I guide with calm, clarity, and compassion, always keeping safety at the centre of every decision.

My mission is simple: a healthy, crying baby in your arms and a mother who feels heard, respected and supported. I care deeply about your experience — because birth matters, and how you feel during it stays with you forever.

If you feel that my approach speaks to you, I invite you to my antenatal classes. They are honest and practical — designed to prepare you for real birth and the early days with your baby, without pressure or unrealistic promises.
